getting windy with it

'neath the L S & I spent a long weekend in Chicago where we joined the B fam to celebrate M’s 85th birthday in style. A fab time was had by all (AFAIK) including, most importantly, the guest of honor.

We love the town but hate the weather.

Among other things we caught Travis Haddix at Rosa’s, attended a matinee performance at the 2nd City Improv comedy club, saw cool art at the Art Institute of Chicago, craned our necks at greystones on Logan Blvd, and ate lots of great food. And possibly the coolest thing, gawked and walked underneath the amazing mirror sculpture at Millennium Park.

So Frank, I came upon your blog looking for more interesting fun from your trip. Alas, not much! Cool photo though. But, I’ve got to comment on Chicago. There are so many cool things, 2nd city being one of them, and the sculpture and band shell at the park another. The art institute is over the top. And yes, the weather sucks. Better to visit May-June, after the winter chill, before the humidity. Oh, and the brownstones. I lived in Lincoln Park, about two blocks from Old Town, and also in Wriglyville, near Cubs park. Such a fun place.
